Whitehaven Beach Half-Day Cruises

Whitsundays, Australia

Enjoy relaxing on the pure white sand of Whitehaven Beach. You can walk along the seven kilometer stretch of natural silica sand, swim in crystal clear water or lay back and read a good book. There is no better place to unwind then finding your own slice of paradise and feeling the ocean breeze sweep over you as your body melts into the sand.

The only way to truly experience one of the world's best beaches is in style and comfort aboard a large, high-speed and air-conditioned catamaran.

Picturesque Whitehaven Beach is one of the Whitsundays premier natural attractions - five miles (seven kilometers) of glistening white silica sand complemented by crystal clear waters. Located on Whitsunday Island, the largest island in the region, Whitehaven Beach is fully protected and uninhabited due to its National and Marine Park status. Its shallows are graced by various species of turtles, and these ancient creatures are often sighted during daily visits.

Swim in the crystal clear waters, take a leisurely walk along the pristine beach, join in the beach games or just relax and soak up the sunshine.

Absolutely beautiful beach, and a great trip out there. But be prepared - nothing to do there besides swim, sit, or walk on the beach.

This beach is the one you have always dreamed of. The powdery white silica sand is so luxurious and the water is so Incredibally turquoise in color. We blasted out to Whitehaven at high speed and rounded Whitsunday Island to reveal Whitehaven beach. We had about two hours to swim, stroll along the beach, or just soak up the sun. Some people rented pop up sun tents, but we just found a shady tree to park under. We brought a picnic lunch, but snacks are provided on the way home as well. This may only be a half day tour, but it is so lovely and should not be missed.

The trip was well organised but had to wear stinger suits to swim

This trip was good and gets you to whitehaven beach which is beautiful, but I recommend some of the other tours over this one. This one spends a lot of time on the Catamaran, unloading/loading at Whitehaven, and has a stop on the way out to the beach from Arlie stop at Hamilton to pick up other people. If possible, I would recommend one of the speed boat trips with Hamilton Island Reef Ryders. This half day trip had a lot more in it and we still got time at Whitehaven.

Was a pleasant day. Half day tour was just right for us. Beautiful beach, but recovering from typhoon Debbie.

The beach itself was awesome and although it was raining heavily the day we went, it didin't stop us enjoying swimming, walking and having a laugh! _br/_ The only downside was the actual boat to take us out to the beach. We were under the impression it was a sailing boat / yacht which turned out to be a large ferry, stopping at other islands along the way to pick up more passengers. However, with the heavy rain, being this ferry turned out to be a good thing! It was a great day out.

We chose the half day trip because there are no facilities at all on Whitehaven Beach - and rightly so. It's a beautiful stretch of white powdery sand that gets in everything. It took quite a while to get there with stops there and back at Daydream and Hamilton Island where you change boats on the way out. Journeys are twice as long as you get to stay on the beach but scenery end route is wonderful.

Only good thing about the trip was the Sea Bob experience for an extra 80 per person. Felt like cattle being herded. Staff burned out.

This was an awesome experience. Cruise from Airlie goes via Daydream and Hamilton Islands which was good to get a glimpse of those islands. Whitehaven itself was amazing, from the clear water to the squeaky silica sand, there is a reason this is one of the best beaches in the world. Couldn't recommend the tour more highly.

Definitely do Whitehaven Beach - just with a different company! (This was Cruise Whitsundays) the time I paid for trip was cut in half, we had to wait to swap boats on another island, the staff were really rude and unhelpful

Fantastic day on Whitehaven Beach. Part the adventure is also getting there, enjoying the cruise and scenery of the Whitsunday Islands.

Well organised, the trip out was great, saw a couple of whales. The beach is stunning. We took the short 1.3km walk for great views.

My only regret is that I only booked a half-day trip. I wish I could have stayed longer! The beach is absolutely gorgeous!! There aren and #39;t any amenities there... So you need to pack what you need (and take it with you when you go) but I could have stayed all day! You won and #39;t regret it!!

Everything about this trip was great. The crew was wonderful and we had plenty of time to explore Whitehaven Beach. I should have done better research ahead of time, though, because the truly iconic part of Whitehaven Beach is the Hill Inlet. On the half day cruise, you miss the Hill Inlet part. I would recommend booking the full day cruise so that you don't miss out on the Hill Inlet if that is important to you.

This was a fantastic Cruise. The trip to Whitehaven beach was smooth and fast, time spent on the beach was just enough to enjoy the features of this remarkable place, we went swimming, snorkeling and bush walking. We all enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea on board the boat and I feel this cruise was good value for money. I highly recommend this cruise to other visitors to Hamilton Island.

This was a wonderful excursion. The beautiful beach and sand were amazing. We had a bit of an overcast day, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the surf and sand. Captain and crew were pleasant and focused on delivering a top notch experience.

Whitehave beach is a beautiful place. Well worth the bumpy ride to get there. The tour was really well run with a fantastic, friendly crew. Would recommend!

Not enough time on Whitehaven Beach, because of plenty of time driving there. But Whitehaven Beach is worth seeing anyways.

It's was a very relaxed day. The boat trip was beautiful and it was super to walk on whitehaven beach. The crew was great, they looked after you and had a lot of jokes. It was just not too sunny to really sunbath or swim. I really enjoyed my day.

A very worthwhile & enjoyable tour. A pleasant, adequate buffet lunch was available on the trip to Whitehaven Beach. The boat was very clean with attentive professional staff. Whitehaven beach is beautiful. Beach games were available to those that wished to participate but we walked 100 yds down the beach and had a lovely afternoon sitting on the beach and having fun in the sea. Recommend this trip to everyone. Fantastic views of Whitsunday Islands from both the beach & boat.

The food and facilities in the boat were very good but the beach was a bit disappointing. Nothing to do, no shelter. It takes a long time to carry everyone to the beach and to come back to the boat.

The half day cruise to Whitehaven was great, and the staff were extremely friendly and good fun. The BBQ buffet lunch was very tasty with plenty of choice. Whitehaven beach is exactly what you see in the photos - beautiful white sand, lovely turquoise clear sea. The stinger suits which were handed out to everyone gave us all a laugh, as we all looked like teletubbies when we put them on! Definitely worth doing.

Everyone has heard of Whitehaven Beach and is a must to experience for yourself. After the coral and pebbly beaches of the resort islands was great to find sand - and what sand! Was extremely busy with boats and planes and unfortunately having to moor at the southern tip precludes investigating the magnificent shallows of the northern beach. Perhaps a full day trip would be a better option.

Really good trip, staff were excellent, organising transfers from hotel in Airlie Beach to Shute Harbour and across to Hamilton Island accommodation. Also looking after everyone so we had a good time. Boat well equipped. Whitehaven Beach beautiful. Would have liked to have gone to Hill Inlet look out point to see 'swirling sand' view. Recommend trip.
