After pickup from Central Zurich or the airport, travel through the northern Switzerland countryside close to the German border, passing gently rolling vineyards. Pass quaint farming villages, admiring the traditional frame houses. You will have a photo stop at the medieval Laufen Castle.
Arrive at Rhine Falls, Europe's biggest waterfall at 450 feet (150 meters) wide and 75 feet (23 meters) tall. Savor an hour of free time to capture photos and admire the falls from different perspectives. Take an optional boat ride (June to August only) to a large rock in the middle of the falls where you can appreciate their full grandeur.
Throughout your 3.5-hour Rhine Falls tour, your informative guide will tell you more about the sights you see and the history and culture of northern Switzerland. On your way back you will pass through Schaffhausen, where you can see the distinctive circular Munot Fortress, which was built in the 16th century. If you like leisurely tours with lots of scenery, then this is for you. I was not as excited by the falls as I thought I would be, as they are not as impressive as many others in the world. But, if you just want a day out in nature, then this tour is a good way to do it.

The tour of Rheinfall in Zurich, Switzerland is a must! I've been to Niagara falls lots of times, but Rheinfalls is definitely my favorite of the two. With the picturesque backdrop of all that is beautiful in nature, with the waters gushing and being close enough to almost touch it, was very thrilling. It is a sight to see!

This was a good experience up to Rhine Falls. Please note that this was a winter time excursion and that could make a difference. The coach arrived promptly on time and we began our excursion up to Rhine Falls. On my tour the guide spoke in English and gave us excellent information about the different sites we were seeing during the coach ride. Now I'm not sure if this was intentional or not but while the guide explained the difference between Catholic and Protestant churches he used the word cock to describe the rooster at the top of the protestant churches. Of course in America we would never use that word for the rooster and there were the immature giggles on the bus.

Great short trip. If you have few hours to kill, I will recommend taking the 3.5 hours trip._br/_ it's about 1 hour drive to each direction and another 1.5 hours in the falls it's enough.

Gorgeous views and you even get up close and personal with the falls. The tour guide was amazing and the history provided on the journey to and from thru some of the smaller Swiss towns made me forget I was on a large tour bus. Loved the falls!

This was a good tour.. Enjoyed seeing outside the city of Zurich and passing through the country side. The falls and the history were very good, don't compare to Niagara but were very good in their own rite. Unfortunately the day was rainy and chilly and I had a cold so I did not partake of the boat ride to the falls although my sister did and she said it was worth it and had a lot of fun. I spent the time in the museum and the castle and enjoyed that.

This site was quite beautiful and in August the amount of water pouring through here is reminiscent of Niagra Falls. There was a fair amount of walking and the person in our party with a knee injury still was able to do it, as there is a lift that handles The steepest part of the hike. The only little disappointment was not being able to get out to the rock in the middle to climb up. It was not part of the tour. ur guide was very friendly.

The meeting place is very easy to find once you get your bearings. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us to a pretty village on the way to Rhine Falls where we saw the original building style up close. As we'd had quite a lot of rain in the previous few days the falls were very powerful - spending the extra 10 Swiss Francs to hop on the boat was good...but a little underwhelming. The trip back was different...popping through Germany.

This was a good way to see the falls but the time actually viewing them was limited. A lot of steps back from the viewing area as the elevator only goes halfway up/down so my partner was not able to go on the boat ride or to the viewing spots-this was not mentioned beforehand which might allow those with some physical issues to choose a different excursion. Our guide, Jorge, was on a strict time line but he was very happy to answer any questions from the group!!!

This is a great tour, you can get close enough to touch the falls, spend a good amount of time on the water. I only skipped the last star because this is not the tour that allows you to stand in that island in the middle of the falls. However, everything about this tour was fine. Great price for the experience.

Our tour was in mid-august and basically consisted of a bus ride to the falls with 90 minutes to enjoy and take pictures. The return to Zurich was done via Germany with not much to see industrial area and there were very little commentary made. If you only have few days in Zurich and have already seen falls in general, I would recommend you go for a different kind of tour walking tour was amazing!

This tour was everything that I expected it to be! We paid an extra 10 Franks to go out on the water via boat, right next to the water fall and caught some amazing pictures. I wish we had more time to walk around and view everything but I like that it was only a half day trip and could do this in the morning and fly out at night. The bus and guide were very comfortable. Driver took a surprise route home and went through Germany! Wonderful to see the difference in houses immediately over the border. Would recommend this tour!

Our guide was informative on the way to the falls and well organised when we got there. We decided not to go on the boat trip and went by the stairs to the falls. Quite rocky and uneven but when you get there well worth it. To our surprise there was also a lift that you could take that our guide had failed to tell us about so if you are disabled or unsteady on your legs do take the lift. The falls are not high but an enormous amount of water up to 700 square cubic litres per second does flow through them.
