Bangkok Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River

Enjoy Bangkok at night on a 2.5-hour dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River. See two of the city’s top attractions — the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) and the Grand Palace — illuminated after dark, and feast on a variety of Thai dishes. An onboard band provides musical entertainment. Hotel transport is included from select locations.
After hotel pickup in central Bangkok, head to the waterfront to board the luxurious riverboat that will take you on a leisurely ride along the Chao Phraya River, a major Thai river that flows from the city into the Gulf of Thailand.
Once you’ve boarded, settle into a seat in the boat’s comfortable, warmly furnished dining room, or watch the brightly lit Bangkok skyline glide by from the deck. Cruise slowly along the river, passing under bridges and right in front of two of Bangkok’s most famous riverfront landmarks — the Temple of Dawn, known as Wat Arun, a Buddhist temple that dates back to the 17th century, and the Grand Palace, the official residence of the King of Thailand (and historically the King of Siam) since the late 1700s.
When you’re ready to eat, head to the large buffet of Thai dishes and desserts. Your meal is accompanied by a live band and other local entertainers.
Your evening ends with return transport to your hotel after disembarking the boat.
The actual boat trip is nice and the dinner was ok. The seating was pre-arranged and you didn't have to run to get to a seat. The real challenge is to get to the Boat. We had to wait with the ticket along with few hundred people without knowing whether we are doing the right thing. They have few boats departing fro the wharf and have some sort of a system that works but you are not even given a hint whether you are on the right track. But it was a good boat trip.. I would do it once!

The tour guide just leaves you on the dock and there are a million people there. We didn't enjoy it very much as there were way to many people on the boat and the food was cold.

This tour was fine. If we were to do it again, we'd want to sit on the open, top deck, rather than inside behind the glass windows. The food was was good and plentiful. The onboard entertainment was fun, and a great effort was made by the singer - hostess to get the customers to join in the singing, dancing, and amusement.

Not great, to many people and you arent given the option whether to sit inside or outside and if u wanted to go outside to see the view you cant see anything as people seated outside after dinner dont move so you can enjoy the view too. Entertainment was really bad.

Nice scenery, but get ready for the boarding process. Tons of people waiting for the boats and they push to get on. Would be nice to have a more organized queue or board by sections or something. Food was decent for the price.

I took the cruise with my girl friend. We made sure to get on the boat as early as possible to get a good table for eating the meal. We got on the end of the table near the buffet so easy to go back for seconds. There was plenty of food and desserts. The food was OK, not gourmet. There was a singer performing where we were. After eating, we went upstairs to the deck to look at the night lights and surrounding area of the river. There was also a singer performing there. It was a nice night with decent weather. I don't know if it is worth the money paid, but it was not a bad experience.

Although boarding at the Pier is a little crazy and disorganized, the cruise was very enjoyable. The food was delicious with great service al to enjoy while seeing the beautiful river sights. I also enjoyed the entertainment/shows on board. I would definitely do this again.

Dropped off to utter chaos with crowds right next to the river were dangerous with a lot of pushing to the front. The driver helped us get our ticket but then we were left with no instruction on where to wait. On the boat there was a Chinese buffet and singers, but no guide to point out temples

Too many people on this cruise. The organization of getting on and off the boat was horrible. Everyone is pushing and shoving, not knowing which line to get in.

I have been on a few dinner cruises before and this one was not very good. The loading process like a jammed cattle call funneling hundreds of people through a single Gangway. I had my 83 year old Aunt with me and was concerned we were going to get plowed over. The service was just ok and we had to wait for water and drinks. The Buffet dinner was also just OK and the food got cold on your plate before you got back to your table. The entertainer was a bit like karaoke and kept singling out people that didn't want to be singled out to sing along. I would not book this tour again.

We were picked up at Marriott Sukhumvit at 5.30 p.m. and arrived at the terminal/shopping center at 6.25 p.m for a cruise starting at 8 p.m. We dont like being manipulated into a shopping expedition._br/_ Boarding was chaotic even with assigned seats and our table was in the corner of the main deck with no view whatsoever. After requesting a move, we were relocated to the open air bow which gave us the views but lost the interior entertainment._br/_ Bar service was fine but the buffet food was lukewarm at best._br/_ Not a great experience and wouldnt do this one again.

It was a massified eating expreience with the food alright but nothing special, EXTREMELY touristy and the entertainment something not at all Thai - rather old 80s karaoke chocie songs. We went to the bow where it was a bit quieter and enjoyed the views.

Loved the food and entertainment. Getting on the boat wasn’t as big an issue as some reviews make it sound. The tables were reserved so didn’t get a window seat but you can walk around and take pictures. Our hotel wasn’t on the pickup list but they picked us up for 100 baht per person which was fine

This tour is saved by the lady entertainer who does her best to interact with the diners . The food is below standard . The boarding of the ship is disastrous and potentially will result in an incident when people will be hurt. Please review the boarding procedure .

We been told that pick up can be provided from our hotel but as we got stuck in traffic while in city it was impossible to get back to hotel by 630 as agreed so we have called given number to ask if we can be picked up at later time. We even said if requires we can get to the meeting point at our own expense but there was no clear address. Communication with given contact was very difficult due to language barrier. We have made at least 6 calls asking them to explain address to our taxi driver and also to our hotel reception but still not had a clear idea on where we need to get to.

Great tour though very, very busy at the pier. Food on the boat is buffet style and covers a range of cuisines which was a nice surprise. The trip back down to the river to the pier was the best - dancing on the top deck under the stars.

This is an evening riverboat cruise on the Chao River as advertised. If this is the only cruise you take while in Bangkok then it is probably OK. We found the cruise to be very crowded. The buffet food and service was decent, but not great. Dinner at a good restaurant that overlooks the river would be a better option if you want a nice quite romantic dinner.

The dinner cruise was fun and very entertaining. There is a lot of food as well but the anount of people waiting for the ship is insane. My mom got stressed waiting due to soooo many people that's why it wasnt so fun for me. They will take you there at 6 but you ride the boat 8:15.

Cool experience. Buffet was great, varied, and delicious. Musical show was also nice. Since we were inside the two-decker boat, we missed some temples that needed to be seen from the deck, and no one announced when we were passing by, so be careful to not miss the temples lit at night.

Fun only begins when settled already in the dining area especially because of the entertaining and engaging live performances. But the waiting at the pier is not fun at all as there was no system in lining up/cuing. Some tourists/customers of the dinner cruise tend to push their way to get in front.

Driver arrived at 5:30 but it was after 7 when we got to the pier. Pier was a madhouse with multiple cruises leaving. Stood around til 8:15 then herded like cattle onto the boat. Food was not good: buffet was cold, saw a cockroach on the table. Getting 2 stars because the driver also took us home.

Pickup was on time and it was an interesting drive from central Bangkok to the riverside. Once there we were greeted by the cruise company and given our tickets, we had a little over an hour to spend before boarding, we met a South Korean couple who were totally confused as there were many people and many boats loading in sequence, it was a bit chaotic but we all managed to get onto the correct boat including our South Korean friends. Once onboard the food and seating was very good with live entertainment. Overall a very good night despite the chaos earlier. Maybe some improvement could be made or the loading procedure explained a little more clearly. The main problem seemed to be the many cruise companies using only one docking facility.

Over all the cruise was ok,you definitely have to be picked up and dropped off as the traffic is so bad. A bit crowed at the pier waiting to get on the boat but once on it was very organised. The entertainment was great but the food wasn't and it was cold. We we're celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary so they presented us with a little cake and the lady singer sang to us while we danced which was very nice as they only found this out on the night when the singer asked if anyone was celebrating anything. To take photos you have to go outside as you can't see from your table.
