Top 5 Most Beautiful Lakes in the Rockies

With so many beautiful lakes in the Canadian Rockies it’s tough to pin it down to just five, but here they are.

5. Lake Minnewanka, Banff National Park, Alberta

Just 3 miles from the Banff townsite, Lake Minnewanka is the longest lake in the Rocky Mountain National Parks. It’s not just a beautiful spot, but also a fantastic place to spot wildlife.

4. Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park, Alberta

Maligne Lake and it’s tiny Spirit Island are absolutely beautiful. Since Spirit Island is 14km up the lake with no trail access nearby, the best way to enjoy it is on a lake cruise.

Pronounced pea-toe, Peyto Lake is the highlight of the Icefields Parkway, the highway that links between Lake Louise and Jasper . It’s best seen from the Peyto Lake Lookout, close to Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefields Parkway at 6,827ft.

2. Lake Louise, Banff National Park, Alberta

Probably the best-know of all lakes in the Canadian Rockies. Stunning. Enough said.
