Private Tour: Harry Potter Black Taxi Tour of London

London, United Kingdom

From Diagon Alley to the Leaky Cauldron take a private black taxi tour of Harry Potter sites by black taxi. Nobody knows the streets of London like a cab driver, and each taxi can hold up to five wizards and/or Muggles. This is your chance to put yourself in the shoes of Harry Potter and friends as you tour the sights of London!

Hop aboard and your expert taxi driver/guide will take you to the sites made famous by the Harry Potter series. First stop is Diagon Alley, where Harry and his friends visit at the start of every school year to pick up their supplies of spell books, robes, wands and other items in preparation for their return to Hogwarts.

Walk through the wall to get to platform 9 and 3/4 at King's Cross Station where the Hogwarts Express departs. Then see the place where Harry and Ron stole Ron's father's flying car. Stand on the bridge where the Knight bus crossed from the third book, Prisoner of Azkaban, and visit the all-new Leaky Cauldron.

Exclusive to Viator - visit the locations of the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie!

Follow Harry's flight to London with Dumbledore's Army and see the bridges, buildings and ships they pass along the way. Enter the telephone box that descends into the Ministry of Magic below. Stand right where Harry and Voldemort come face to face for the first time since the Triwizard tournament in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Last stop is the Headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, which is also home to Harry's beloved Godfather Sirius Black.

This tour offers fantastic value for money, comfortably seating up to 5 passengers for one fixed price!

David was great! We had a wonderful time exploring London from a Harry Potter vantage. The cab was clean and comfortable. Saturday morning was to perfect time to go - there was very little traffic to compete with. Would do this again and highly recommend to others.

This was the kickoff of our London adventure. The driver was knowledgeable, personable, and fun.

Our regular tour guide was sick. They had someone fill in that had zero connection to kids. He would have been great for a historical tour of London with Elderhostel. He basically drove us around, got out said two sentences about the location and got back in the taxis. I would highly recommend going on the Warner Brothers studio tour instead. If you can't get tickets try booking them on a few different sites four days before you leave. We snared 3 tickets just two days before we left.

A must do tour for the Potterheads in your family. This tour takes you to several sites across London where either scenes were filmed or where the buildings inspired the storyline. I especially enjoyed watching the actual video clips from the spots where they were filmed. This tour deserves the top ranking it has.

This was a great alternative as the movie studio tours were all booked up. Our driver was totally awesome and very knowledgeable of all the Harry Potter films.....I think Jonathan was right up there with the knowledge as well.

Unfortunately our tour got rained out. The driver tried his best and was full of information but between the rain the traffic and the local taxi strike we just sat in a cab for two hours trying to get from point a to point b. This was not the drivers the fault as I said he did everything he could to try to make it enjoyable for us but it was just one of those things.

Our tour was wonderful, we only had 3 days in London and we did the 9-12 tour one of those days and it was $ well spent. Wish we would have had time to do the studio tour but maby next time :)

Our guide, David, was terrific! He was knowledgable about the movies and pointed out other interesting sights as we toured the city as well. It was the perfect way to spend our first evening in London!

Great for the kids! He spoke directly to them and clearly knew about Harry. As the grown up, I would have appreciated more about London as we were driving between Potter landmarks. What little he shared was because we were asking questions.

My family and I loved this tour and really felt like we got to know London because of it. Our guide was knowledgeable about all the Harry Potter spots, but also filled us in on lots of general information and history about London, as well. The only issue with the tour was that all the pictures on your site include Platform 9 3/4, which is no longer included on the tour, since it is gone. This was what my daughter was looking forward to most on the tour and was fighting back the tears when the driving told us a half hour in that we wouldn't be seeing it. I would encourage you to to take down the pictures of this location, since it is no longer included in the tour.

The tour guide could not have been better. He really knew his stuff !! I thought it was a bit pricey but then everything in this area was on the same level. My daughter loved it

David, our guide, was fantastic. We saw so many fun sights and he pointed out enough non Harry Potter sights that I thought it was a better feel of London than we had gotten on bus tour earlier in the week. Very accommodating and intimate tour. We all loved it!!

This tour was lots of fun - the driver was really knowledgable, friendly and accommodating - we loved it all. We have more friends from Australia visiting in April so I think I will book it again - that will be my third booking for this tour! What more can I say except..can I get a frequent booker discount????

This was a marvelous tour with Michael. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and amusing. We enjoyed seeing the Harry Potter locations as well as being given so much other information about London as we drove around. The taxi was clean and very comfortable. Michael had a DVD player with him and would show us the relevant bits in the film at the various locations. It brought the films to life for us. Excellent tour - thanks, Michael!

Not what we expected! The real tour is outside London about two hr drive. But the driver did his best took us around London to different locations where the movies been shot

Review by:   Valerie N,    October 2012 Review: 2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better
The tour was "ok". My major complaint was the cost. It was 416 pounds and was no where near worth that much. It should have been half that price. If it had been, I would have given it more stars. The guide was good and again it was way overpriced for the tour.

The trip was good. It was very expensive for the amount of information given and sites seen.

Review by:   Sabine F,    August 2012 Review: 1 star rating: I do not recommend this
It was not worth the money. The driver was kind but during the 2 1/2 hours tour we just drove through London for at least 2 hours. The best attraction (luggage wagon in the wall between two platforms) is gone as Victoria Station had been renovated.

I took my nieces on the tour and we really enjoyed the Harry Potter trivia and visiting the different movie filming sites.

We enjoyed this tour very much, as we were able to see some things that were not included in our 10-day tour of England with a travel company. My daughter, who loves the books and movies, really got a kick out of seeing this connection to Harry Potter. Our guide was accommodating and knowledgable, and made this a fun tour for us. I would say this is a "must-do" for the Harry Potter fan, as even I enjoyed it very much in spite of not having read the books or seen the movies.

very exciting trip - a little too long for the 8 year old, but great for the 11 year old. Exciting to see and be in all those Potter places - even if you have lived in London for ages. It's not just for foreign tourists!

A fabulously fun tour. Our 8 year old loved it, and we, as adults, also really enjoyed seeing the little bits of London that appeared in the Harry Potter movies which you would otherwise never have picked. Unfortunately, Kings Cross Station (Platform 9 3/4) is now being renovated so you won't get to see that on your tour any more, however the rest of the tour is still very much worthwhile, and the guide, Michael, was great as a general source of information about London also. Very much recommended if you have little Harry Potter fans with you.

lovely tour, not worth the expense, however.

Overall it was a good tour. I thought 100 gbps was on the high side, but our cab driver Michael showed us more things around London than just Harry Potter, which made up some for the cost

Our tour guide, Michael, was outstanding. One disappointment - Kings Cross (platform 9 3/4) is now closed forever due to remodeling of the train station. Advertising should be updated accordingly.

Loved every minute of it. Martin, our tour guide, seemed to enjoy the tour as much as we did and loved seeing the pleasure he gave to the girls showing them the Harry Potter sites. He was a delight and highly recommend this tour.

We were disappointed to be informed at pick-up by the driver that Platform 9 3/4 hasn't existed for approx 3 months so we couldn't go there. Whilst we enjoyed the tour and our driver was great, this was one of the reasons for booking the Harry Potter tour. The advertising was a little misleading as it should have been updated to exclude a visit to the Platform. The tour was fun but there were only 2 of us so it was quite expensive. We were lucky our tour was on Sunday when traffic was much lighter and we were able to park easily. Overall it was fun.
