Located about 30 minutes north of Marseille, Aix-en-Provence shows its true beauty with unique and colorful fountains, facades, and spectacular plane trees. When your cruise ship docks in Marseille, you’ll be picked up by your guide and taken on a scenic drive north into the heart of the Provence region. While driving you to your destination, he will provide you with historical and cultural information about Provence. Arrive in Aix-en-Provence, your driver will give you a map of the city and point the highlights of the town. It is now time to discover the rich architecture of the city while strolling along Cours Mirabeau, a road lined with quaint 19th-century buildings. Walk to the Place du Général de Gaulle and see its spectacular and well-known fountain.
Visit Place d’Albertras and see the fountain whose basin was made by local students. See the Four Dolphins Fountain, an impressive sculpture created in 1667. Other amazing sights in the vibrant city are City Hall and the Cathédral Saint Sauveur, which features 12th-century buildings offering insight into Aix-en-Provence's unique heritage.
Before you enjoy the shady squares of the eclectic city, you will be able to either explore the city further or to visit the former workshop of the artist Paul Cézanne, Les Lauves (at your own expense). If you'd like to visit Cezanne studio, your driver will give you a specific meeting point and time and will take you to entrance where you will buy the tickets. Take a look inside the small pavilion to see where the local-born artist got his inspiration.
After your tour of Aix-en-Provence, enjoy a peaceful ride back to Marseille’s cruise ship port.

This was a problematic reservation for the start. We were sent a big bus just for our family. Once there it was more like a walking tour,

The tour was good! However the tour guide kept asking us what we wanted to do. As a visitor we wouldn’t know what to see- it’s guide job to tell us what he is going to show us. Anyway he showed us around. Other than Cezanne, there is not much to see in Provence...This tour does not include Marseille

Our driver, Greg, was very good. He gave us much information on the area and was very accommodating to the group's requests, as well as having a good sense of humour. It was a beautiful day and we very much enjoyed it.

Extremely disappointed . 1/2 hour late picking us up - had to contact the office twice before they sent someone to pick us up. There really wasn't a tour - it was merely a ride to Aix en Provence - then handed a map and free time - expected to go to Cezanne's studio as advertised when we signed for the tour - but local tour guide said that was not part of tour. Viator contracts out the tours - so the tour does not always match what you book back in the States.

Excellent tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and she really personalized the tour for each participant. This was a very nice way to see how people in this area of France live and we enjoyed the relaxing pace of the tour.
