At the turn of the century, Brooklyn was considered a ‘Milwaukee of the East,’ providing a home to approximately 40 breweries. But by the early 1970s, labor costs, prohibition and technological improvements caused every one of them to lock their doors and leave town. Over the past few years, new breweries have started popping up and are reinventing the crafts of their ancestors. Discover the story in depth as you follow your local guide on a walking tour through one of Brooklyn's favorite local breweries, where you’ll take an exclusive tour and sample the delicious brew.
Next, head to the birthplace of Brooklyn's brewing scene, where you’ll explore some of the historic 19th-century buildings that once housed brewing operations. Hear stories from your guide about the German immigrants that brewed the beer and lived in the neighborhood. Then visit the Church of Most Holy Trinity – St Mary, a beautiful church dating back to the mid-18th century. After, enjoy a full lunch (included) at a traditional pizza shop that uses the freshest ingredients.
Your final stop brings you to a friendly neighborhood bar to sample several more local brews.
Our guide Verbena was great from our first stop to our last she gave us the history of each place as well as the area these places were located in. All the places we visited except for the brewery were places where the locals go so the average tourist would probably not go there.Highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky you will get our guide.

It was pretty freezing outside but our tour was let in early which was great. Our guide Josh was really knowledgeable and had a great enthusiasm for the brewery. It helped also that the staff member who gave the tour was so funny and very informative. We had some great beers at the brewery itself, then onto amazing pizza and a few other bars and more beers. Cannot recommend this highly enough as you also get to experience a taste of Brooklyn which you might not otherwise see and places you might never know about

Had a great time. Started at Brooklyn Brewery with a tour and tasting. Then we hopped in a car to another place and that's where the walking tour started. Our tour guide Nick was excellent--very energetic, engaging, knowledgeable. My boyfriend's only critique was that he thought there would be more beer consumption (after the tasting at the Brooklyn Brewery, we only stopped at 2 more places for a drink), but I was fine with the amount of beer we drank. Our end stop, Barcade, was especially cool. I highly recommend this tour!
