The English-speaking guide not only shows you the highlights of the film, but also the historical and architectural landmarks in the city, as well as a part of the picturesque lake district.
Relax and listen to the soundtrack or sing along to the famous songs and lyrics including 'My Favourite Things,' 'Do-Re-Mi,' 'Edelweiss,' 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain,' 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen,' 'The Lonely Goatherd' and, of course, the glorious title song, 'The Sound of Music.' You will stop in Mondsee for roughly one hour where you will have free time to explore Mondsee Cathedral, the setting of the famous film wedding. You can also explore this beautiful Austrian town at your leisure and we recommend stopping by Mrs Brown's cafe to taste the best 'crisp apple strudel' in Mondsee.

This tour is a lot of fun, and our guide was excellent. Both the guide and the bus driver are lots of fun thanks for the extra circle around the roundabout during the sing-along of DoReMi!. The tour takes you out of the city to see beautiful mountain and lake scenery. You learn lots of fun facts about the filming of the movie. After the tour, I recommend going to St. Peter's cemetery in Salzburg and hiking up to Nonnberg Abbey, since the tour bus cannot go up to those sites.

Imagine youre in a foreign country, youre suppose to be at a certain point at a certain time for the tour you have looked forward to..... and you get lost, and realize that you wont be on time!! You make a phone call to explain the situation, and the voice on the phone assures you that you will not miss the tour and gives you instructions to the meeting point. You see the sound of Music bus and just as you are about to cross the street it drives away! You are screamingNoooooooo as you have already missed 2 trains that day from Passau Behind the bus theres two guys with huge smiles on their faces and with their arms open wide, guide you to the tour they especially made for you, the late American! This is where I have to tell you that DAVID, our lifesaver, turned a crazy, hurried, hectic person into a 10 year old kid, singing her favorite songs from the movie and giving her a tour she and her three other tour mates will never forget. He calmed us down, made us relax, made frequent breaks/stops for water, bathroom visits, lunch, etc. THIS WAS THE BEST TOUR EVER! Thanks so much for showing and telling us all the aspects of my favorite movie! You are our HERO! And David, if you found my blue bag with the Einstein quote on it and all my hotel info and ticket vouchers in it, just keep it, my gift to you for turning a bad day into the best!!!

Our tour guide April made the rainy day bright! She was very enthusiastic and cheery in spite of rainy day. We really appreciated her attitude! We need more people like you in the travel industry! _br/_ The bus driver Zoro was the best driver! I have motion sickness, but I was in perfect condition even when I was watching the screen on the bus. Thank you Zoro, too!

I loved this tour. Being a Sound of Music fanatic, I didn't need to be asked twice to join in the sing-a-long. A great tour, showing all the famous film locations. A really lovely drive through the countryside too.

It is unfortunate that we cannot actually access all the sites due to the fact that the properties are in private ownership. Our guide Bettina was very professional and provided us with a lot of other information about the area. She shared information that we would never known. Thank you Bettina for advising us to go to Unterberg. It was an amazing experience

Really enjoyed this day long trip. Our tour included sights in Salzburg and the surrounding area. We went up into the mountains during our tour and through the lake area to the lovely village of Mondsee. We had free time to explore and shop on our own during the tour. If you are a Sound of Music fan, I highly suggest this tour and if by chance you aren't a fan, this tour is well worth the time, as you see some very beautiful country during the trip.

Our guide was Wolfgang, and he was a very well informed guide who spoke good English. We had 8 people in our minibus for the 4 hour tour. We visited a number of locations used in the film including the lake, the house and the Church where the wedding was filmed plus many others. Wolfgang is a local Salzburg resident and was able to show us several additional sites some of which were not from the film but the original Von Trapp family on whom the film was based._br/_ Would highly recommend this tour, as it also takes you into the mountains and countryside around Salzburg with some stunning views and scenery.

Fun, Fun, Fun! This might be the best tour we have ever gone on. I was hesitant at first thinking it might be corny or that my husband wouldn't like it. But we both loved it! Peter the tour guide was awesome- so knowledgeable and fun. We saw the beautiful countryside that we never would have seen otherwise. Everyone on the bus was singing along all the songs. Just writing this brings a smile to my face. Enjoy!

Our plane trip to Salzburg was thrown off by a missed flight connection, causing us to meet our scheduled tour. We contacted the tour operator about our predicament and he said that he most likely could work us in whenever we arrived. He did just that and saved the day. And both the bus driver and the tour guide were at their best. They made the tour memorable.

What can I say...just a wonderful day out especially for me being a movie buff...skipped where Maria went, enjoyed the visit to the church where Maria married in Mondsee, viewed the gazebo, the wonderful lakes, sung along on the bus to Eidelweiss as well. This tour was recommended to me by my sister and it did not disappoint. The guide was magnificient, the tour delightful a must to book if you are in this delightful city.

The tour was great and very informative. We booked the tour as a birthday treat for my daughter who was celebrating her 40 birthday. We also had my 84 year old mother with us. She is a bit unsteady on her feet, so we took a wheelchair with us to make things easier for mam and us. The only complaint is that the tour guide did not once wait for us to get mam off the bus and into the wheelchair, she just carried on and we just had to catch up, we had to find our own way to the church. I was really not happy about this and wanted to complain, as I felt that mam was given no respect by the Tour Guide. My daughters did not want to spoil the day so I did not complain, but I think it is important for future Tours to just allow a few minutes for people to gather together, before charging off and leaving less mobile people to catch up.

Not for wheelchair users!! Even though I called, as well as wrote in the notes of my reservation we had a wheelchair, we were given a standard coach bus with stairs that I had to be carried up and down more than 6 x to complete the tour. We were rushed on and off. Mobility issues+tour=not good!

Fantastic tour! As a big fan of musicals, I was in heaven! Our guide, David, was wonderful - he was knowledgeable, personable and engaging. It was a lot of fun. The only disappointment was that we couldn't get close to some of the locations, the tour doesn't do locations in old Salzburg - and, because of an early-setting sun, the Mirabell Gardens where many of the scenes for Do Re Mi were shot was ditched. I would suggest doing this tour in the morning - not only because of the early sunset issue, but also because of rush hour! And, if you want to enhance the tour, read this book about the making of the film before you go especially the chapters about Salzburg - The Sound of Music Story by Tom Santopietro 2015.

Very enjoyable tour which my wife, 3 young adult daughters and myself thoroughly enjoyed, the enjoyment much enhanced by our guide David's great sense of humour! He made it so much more fun by his joking and antics, yet still covered the salient points of interest. We _br/_ especially enjoyed hearing about how the film was made, Holywood trickery and behind the scenes incidents. It was good afterwards visiting sites such as the gates of Nonnberg Abbey that can't be visited as part of the tour.Would definitely recommend it to friends.
