Get an early start at Muir Woods National Monument with hotel pickup in the morning. You’ll depart San Francisco, passing the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio, for a drive north across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Gaze at the city skyline and Alcatraz Island en route to the renowned wine country of Northern California. Enjoy early arrival at Muir Woods, before most other tour groups reach the park. This national monument is the site of a virgin forest of California Coast redwood trees, among the oldest and tallest on Earth. You'll have approximately one hour to admire the groves of giant sequoias. I did this when I was on a solo trip in San Francisco. I wanted to see both Muir Woods and go to Napa valley, but wasn’t sure the best way to do this since I didn’t have a car and only was there for three days. Our tour guide/driver was amazing and the wineries we stopped at were great. Although I was the only solo traveler, I was able to make friends and thoroughly enjoy my visit. It was the highlight of my trip.

I wish we would have spent more time at the Woods. There was an awful lot of driving between wineries and we only spent 45 minutes at each. The first one was boring, he kept you in the cold warehouse droning on about wine making. The second was very pleasant, but again, only 45 minutes, the last was Cline, which has a farm. Again, Not enough time. Felt very rushed at the two wineries I liked. I was glad I got the gourmet lunch, cause others on our tour took their chances with food and were disappointed. Overall, I'm glad I did the tour as I'm unsure I'll ever be back to Sonoma/Napa. Note: If tour operator asks where you want to be dropped off, just say your hotel! She gave us the option of Lombard Street, she dropped us off 4 blocks away, we had to walk uphill to get to top of Lombard, all while carrying wine purchase. Ruined the day for us!

Had a great stress free tour. Got to learn a lot from Roman out driver/director. He’s a got a great personality and made the tour full of laughs. The woods was amazing and the wine tour was was perfect. We prepaid for lunch and it was very good. There was no pressure to buy anything extra. Highly recommend this trip.

We've really enjoyed this tour. Lars, the tour guide, was amazing. One of the best tour guides ever. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and funny. I also liked all three wineries we visited. This is a very convenient way if visiting Napa. We also enjoyed our visit to Muir Woods. I suggest participants to take a coat with them as the woods was chilly in morning hours.

This tour requires a large chunk of your time, but if you have it, it's well worth it. Don't just go for the Wine Country part and skip Muir Woods; Muir Woods was better than we expected. The redwoods are huge, and the woods are very clean. Just bring a sweater because it is much colder in the woods than it is just before you enter. Be sure to check out both gift shops, as they are quite different. A camera or smartphone is a must. The road there is VERY winding and it can be scary for those who are afraid of heights; this should be taken into consideration. The bus was great, as was our young driver.

Our female bus driver was not only a great driver around the mountains of Muir Woods, but was also knowledgeable about Muir Woods history and wine making in the greater San Francisco area. Muir Woods was a delight of nature with wooden railed paths. Each winery had its own identity and was enjoyable to hear about. Was a timely, organized tour but allowed for a surprise stop that overlooked the Golden Gate Bridge because of clear skies (No Karl). Thank you even without the Gourmet Lunch.

So glad we booked this trip last minute (the day before). So worth the $$. The driver was so friendly and gave a great entertaining commentary throughout the day. Muir Woods was beautiful with just enough time for a walk through. All three wineries were different and we got to taste excellent wines from the Sanoma and Napa regions. We decided to get our own lunch and there were plenty of options available in the Sanoma plaza with enough time there to eat, get ice cream and then walk around the square. If you’re wanting to do a day trip to the wineries and see Muir Woods - do this trip. We loved it!

LARS was our driver and guide. He is from the Netherlands - and he has such a great personality. Muir Woods was something we adored. Loved the connections this gorgeous place has - to Star Wars and George Lucas. The wine tour was great as well - going to two wineries in Sonoma and one in Napa Valley. Loved the wines - and no pressure to have to buy! And being on our own in Sonoma - having lunch wherever we chose - and getting to shop - was delightful. A MUST WHEN YOU ARE IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!

I had considered renting a car and doing this on my own. I am very happy I made the choice to do the tour. We had ample time to walk Muir Woods and then visit three vineyards. It was a nice balance between nature, food-drink, and people. The driver had a great knowledge of the area and presented it in a relaxed, casual manner. The Muir Woods hike is easy and there are many excellent selections for lunch. Great tour guide who gave us extra by stopping at the Presidio to give us a phot op of the Golden Gate bridge.

This was a trip i took with a friend for her retirement. We decided to go with this group, versus renting a car. Very good, but our bus lost air conditioning during the trip, which was really bad. There should have been a back up bus, ready with working air conditioning, especially as some of us did partake of wine, and when you combine drinking wine with no cool air, not good, I for one got irritable with that.

Wow! This was our favorite tour on our San Francisco vacation! As always, the Muir Woods are amazing - we all wished we'd had a little more time there but wine tasting was waiting! We went into both Sonoma and Napa, and visited 3 really decent wineries. We also did the gourmet lunch, which was very nice and a good way to visit with some of the other folks on our tour. The only negative was that the bus got pretty warm when we were in wine country it was in the 90's, and the AC just wasn't doing the job. Luckily, the driver took us up to the Marin overlook on the way back, and we all got a chance to cool off, stretch our legs and get some amazing photos of the city and Golden Gate. HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Sights are amazing and the trekking is quite easy. The forest itself has a zen like feel as people are not supposed to be making a lot of noise in the woods. I took the optional gourmet lunch and it was alright - I remember there were other choices in the area which are quite good according to my fellow travelers so go for the optional gourmet lunch if you're lazy like I am.

I absolutely loved this tour - it was the definite highlight of my visit to San Francisco. At the heart of this tour was our guide, Jake. He taught us a lot of history and interesting facts about the sights we visited, entertained us with jokes and music, and simply was a delight to spend the day with. As a solo tourist, I was a bit apprehensive about visiting wine country - but I never felt alone or bored with Jake in charge, bringing smiles to my face all day. I cannot thank him enough for creating such a memorable and wonderful experience for me.

This was such a great way to experience wine country in a day! The redwoods and Muir were breathtaking. The drive through the Sonoma and Napa was stunning. We really appreciated the small, family vineyards that we were able to visit in Sonoma. Our driver/guide was amazing - super nice, funny, and a pleasure to be with all day. There are PLENTY of options for lunch in Sonoma Square, but the wine pairing lunch option add-on to the trip was fantastic and made the day worry free! I recommend to anyone that wants to simply relax and get a great overview of wine country while visiting the Bay area!

We had such a great time! Muir Woods were beautiful and we arrived just before the crowds. Then we went to our first winery in Sonoma and then lunch in downtown Sonoma. Our tour guide Denise had great recommendations for food since we opted out of the gourmet lunch. I wish we had a little more time in Downtown Sonoma. Afterwards, we went to Napa Valley then back to Sonoma for wineries. At the end of the tour, we had a final stop at Marin Headlands for a spectacular view of Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco. While she drove us back to our hotels, she gave recommendations of things to do in San Francisco as well as food recommendations. Our tour guide, Denise, was amazing!!!! She had a lot of fun facts about the region and was funny. I want her to be my best friend!

The tour was very good for the price. The woods were beautiful. We visited 3 wineries in the region and spent time in Sonoma plaza and had the chance to visit more tasting rooms. The tour bus was comfortable and the driver knowledgeable. We stopped at a spot overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge too.

Highly recommended! Our tour guide which i cant remember his name right now (tour nov 20th) was awesome! Very nice, knowledgeable and flexible. Timing of everything was nice though i would have liked at least 1hr and a half to get lunch instead of one hour. We had to rush to eat our food.

We loved the combination of Muir Woods, a visit to Sonoma town square and 3 wineries and we had a a fabulous entertaining, informative and welcoming guide the whole way. However, Australians note- I think we are bigger drinkers than our American friends - the first winery only gave 3 tastings!

This was a great tour to the woods and wine country. I love the time among the redwoods, I was able to explore quite a bit. Lunch in town was great, I stopped at a place that was grilling up fresh burgers and added some local cheese from the shop next door. Wine tastings were all good as well. Definitely worth doing!

Wow, Muir woods is a cool place, amazing trees. After that, we headed to 3 different wineries, each one had it's unique appeal, feels a bit as a way to promote those places as people will end up buying bottles that can be purchased at stores same price or maybe less. Anyway it was a fun trip and service was good.

Got us there late had to pay 20 entry for 1 1/2 hours then our wine country tour was a debacle. I understand the wildfires beyond their control but they had no real back up plan and as for the 3 vineyards and tastings went into Sausalito and got 3 spits of wine. Partial refund was granted but not near enough travel guide was a gamer though can't fault him

I truly enjoyed this tour. The sites were spectacular, lunch at the restaurant was delicious the wine tasting allows you to also learn the history of the region. The Sonoma community was so happy to see our group come and patronize the businesses there in light of all the damage caused by the fires. It was also touching to see how the community has banded together and gives you a humble perspective on natural disasters. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, informative and extremely fun. I highly recommend for first time visitors.
