Your day begins with complimentary pick-up at your resort. You will learn all about the Grand Canyon's history, geology and more on this comprehensive day tour. Your knowledgeable guide will be narrating as you drive through this beautiful, diverse landscape. Enjoy a drive through Oak Creek Canyon (one of the 20 most scenic drives in the nation), Flagstaff and on to the Grand Canyon.
Your first stop at the Grand Canyon National Park is at Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim, where you will have free time to explore the historic buildings, visit the gift shops or walk part of the paved South Rim trail. Then, follow your guide to the East Rim to a few more great lookouts. You will see amazing views of the Colorado River and the Painted Desert off in the distance. As you exit the park, you will drive along Little Colorado River Gorge into the Navajo nation. Here, you will stop at the Historic Cameron Trading Post. You will have the opportunity to browse the Native American artwork and shop for souvenirs. A family friendly movie is shown on the journey back to your hotel. A fun, educational day for all!

This was a long but fabulous day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the train ride. The canyon is unbelievable. However, with this trip there isn't much time to explore the canyon on your own.

We loved our tour guide but felt like we did not get to see much of the park. It took five hours to get to the gates even though it is only a two hour drive. We also only got to see four view points which is not a lot for a twelve hour tour. We expected more time in the park but it is worths doing.

Most amazing day of touring the Grand Canyon. We had a great tour guide that was very upbeat as well as giving us in depth information about the Grand Canyon and the entire area around it. We had plenty of time for pictures and our lunch was more than generous.

We had an amazing tour of the Grand Canyon with David last Monday. If we could hand pick a tour guide it would be David. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. Without this tour we would not have seen all the best sights in the Grand Canyon._br/_ Loved the small group and hotel pick up. Frequent rest stops was a nice added touch._br/_ I recommend the IMAX movie and El Tovar lunch, both were amazing. Well worth the money.

Great west tour driver seemed to drive so fast and one should know if they sit to the back of the vehicle that it will be a relatively rough drive. I had quite a headache when i got home. He also talked so fast and continuous that it wore me out. As far as the actual places the south rim was great. We also saw the IMAX 'movie'. It is put on by National Geographic so does have some nudity is showing the natives in the area. Otherwise it is very good. El TOvar was nice place to eat and felt so waited upon!

Daniel was our tour guide and he was very interesting and knowledgable. We had only one day to see the canyon and this is the tour we chose. The helicopter ride was our 1st glimpse of the canyon and it really took all of our breaths away. This is beautiful country and just speaks for itself. But thanks to Daniel, we got all kinds of interesting perspectives on all kinds of different levels, from the wildlife, to geology and history of the area. There were just enough stops to get different perspectives of the canyon. We got beautiful photos. He really made our one day there more than complete. Highly recommend.

This tour absolutely exceeded our expectations. I had been to the Grand Canyon via another tour company but my this was my husbands first time. While viewing the Canyon never gets old as it is ever changing, I feel like I had never seen the Canyon before thanks to our incredible tour guide at Great Western Tours, Daniel. His knowledge and passion for the Canyon really enhanced the trip. We saw so many different views of the Canyon. I can't say enough. We included the IMAX and lunch at El Tovar which we also recommend. If you are looking to tour the Grand Canyon stop searching and book this tour and hopefully it will be with Daniel.

Our Grand Canyon South Rim tour included the 1st class railway ride into the Canyon. Our tour guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable and had a true compassion for, not only the geological side of what we were seeing, but for his job as well...we were exceedingly pleased we were part of his tour. The downside of the tour was when we split with Daniel for a few hours and took the train into the canyon. Both my husband and I were really looking forward to the ride but it fell short...we found it very boring...the scenery never changed and we felt it the entire 'train' experience was lacking. I would highly suggest foregoing the train and staying with the group...the folks who did saw an iMax movie and were able to grab lunch before they arrived at the Canyon. When the train dropped us off at the Canyon, we had about 90 minutes before we met back up with Daniel tour guide and the rest of the group. Because we missed lunch with the group, our 90 minutes of 'Canyon viewing time' was used viewing the Canyon and finding/eating lunch. The remainder of our time with the entire tour group was great...Daniel took us to a variety of 'viewing spots' giving us the chance to see the Canyon from various locations. Well worth the time/money...I gave it 4 stars only because of the train experience.

Dave, my tour guide, was amazing! I highly recommend this tour, takes the trouble out of driving, trying to figure out where to go to see the best views, etc. Very informative and easy. The only thing I would change would be to skip the train ride, unless you are looking for some downtime to relax during the day.

This was a great tour of the South Rim if you are looking to get the most out of a one day trip to the South Rim. Our guide Joe was fantastic and gave us some great insights on the geology of both Sedona and the Grand Canyon. When he found out I had an interest in the history of the Harvey House, he made sure we made a quick stop at Bright Angel Lodge to see great little exhibit showing some of that history. Must do is lunch at the El Tovar! The food is decent much better than the cafeteria option, I'm sure and the view was magnificent. Joe had the inside info and made sure we got to lunch early and was able to get us a table at the window SCORE!.

Loved this tour! The mini bus we were picked up in was comfortable and on the drive up, our tour guide Christine was super knowledgeable about the area. The Grand Canyon is clearly amazing, the lunch at El Tovar was really good (dessert too!) and we stopped at many lookout points for pics.

We enjoyed our day trip to the Grand Canyon and our tour guide Joe was very informative throughout the whole trip about the history, culture, people, and geology of the area. His exerpertise was evident and also his enthusiasm for the area. The Grand Canyon views were excellent and we appreciated that we stopped at a few places at the Grand Canyon for different views of it. Highly recommend the helicopter ride through the canyon. Great views and a smooth ride. Lunch at the El Tovar was OK we didn't have a table with a view so we felt paying the extra money to eat there was not necessary. It was almost a 12-hour day, but a fun one!

The trip was all worth it. We were picked up at our hotel at exactly the time we were told. Our guide, Kristen, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We saw the IMAX movie which was very good and ate in the cafeteria which had good food. Kristen gave us plenty of time at each stop to take photos and pointed out features and told us the best places to take photos. All in all a very good experience and highly recommended for first timers to the Grand Canyon.

The train ride up was ok. First class had decent snacks for breakfast unfortunately, not a lot to see on the ride up as the landscaping was pretty flat until you got closer to the Grand Canyon stop. Not much time was allowed to see all areas of the village and adjacent tourist stops. Ride home with personal guide was pretty good as well as a stop in the Navajo gift shop. All in all, not too bad...

Having our guide pick us up in Sedona and take us to Grand Canyon was worth the price. He took us to several vantage points, lunch and we stopped off to shop at the Navajo reservation before we headed back to Sedona. It was a great memory making day! It was a beautiful day.

Our tour guide was KRISTIN and she did a FABULOUS job!! She took pictures of everyones group at all the stops and that was soo important to us! She was fun and exciting and funny!! The trip/tour was amazing! She picked us up from our Sky Ranch Lodge Hotel and we were able to see all the beautiful sights from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. We took the helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon and got a 8 X 10 picture after we were finished w/ the awesome experience that we will never forget!! Our lunch at the El Tovar lodge was wonderful w/ an incredible view over-looking the canyon and the food was soo very tasty!! Desserts were fabulous!! After our tour was complete, we had an awesome sunset ride back into the Sedona area and were able to see the sunsetting on all those beautiful Red Rocks. Absolutely loved our bus portion of the tour, guide Lynn was FANTASTIC. Add on train trip HUGE waste of time and money, upgrade to 1st class a complete disappointment fiddler only thing worth seeing, hostess so disinterested in passengers and information, should have stayed with the bus.

Great West Tours trip from Sedona was outstanding for our tour on March 22, 2016 but I recommend future users deal directly with Great West google them to take advantage of their direct discount deals the owner Bob answers the phone himself and was very accommodating. David our tour guide and driver was very personable and had great knowledge of the area, the history and his dual college degrees made him exceptional for facts and myths. He made sure we had plenty of water and snacks for the day and ensured we knew when our next stop for rest rooms and purchases would take place. Although the approximately 16 seat bus was not sedan comfortable we weren't on dirt roads and David made sure our temperature needs were met. Of course the scenery, especially the canyon itself were spectacular. The stop at the IMAX theater for the movie about the history of the Canyon was very educational and fun. As I added up the amount it would have cost for individual items included in the tour cost IMAX, gas, admission fee to the park, Great West gift post cards of paintings of the canyon, and a full meal at the cafeteria style restaurant the price was reasonable. Watching visitors who drove themselves to the park try to find a parking spot at the various locations proved to me that the tour was the way to go.
