Quaff your way around three Tenerife wineries on this 8-hour wine tasting tour. Traveling by air-conditioned minivan with a private guide, head into northern Tenerife to discover and taste the island’s acclaimed wines. Enjoy a tasting at the traditional Bodegas El Lomo, and then visit the Bodega Monje in the beautiful Tacoronte wine region for a delicious lunch (own expense) paired with wine tastings. Finally, visit the quaint Museum of Malvasia in Icod de los Vinos to sample some of Tenerife’s beloved Malvasia wines, made with the sweet Malvasia grape.

Begin your 8-hour tour with a pickup from your Tenerife hotel. Board your private air-conditioned minivan with your private guide and travel to the Bodegas El Lomo in the pretty village of Tegueste. If you fancy spending more or less time at a particular winery, just ask. As a private tour, your itinerary can be tailored to your interests.
Hear about the long history of Tenerife’s wines, and when you arrive at El Lomos, head inside for a tour. Learn about the winemaking process, and sample a selection of wines, such as fruity whites and reds, with some goat’s cheese.

We six of two generations took this private tour in February. The contents of the tour were mostly different than those advertised when booking, only the Museo de Malvasia was included. But, that was no problem at all - the tour was really a great experience. There was a lot of room in the big minivan. In addition to our highly knowledgeable guide Alexis, we were accompanied by a local enologist and two professionals from the company running the wineries we visited. We saw four different ways to cultivate wines, tasted wines on spot at two vineyards and finally a large variety of wines and other drinks in the lush back garden of the Museo de Malvasia, with plentiful snacks enough for lunch. During our driving periods, including long stretches of beautiful minor roads, Alexis also taught as a lot about the geology, nature and living conditions of the island.
