buying on price was not a good choice for this tour. Where do i start_br/_ 1 Staff were useless, no one knew what was going on, _br/_ 2 their schedule was never kept to, buses didn't arrive on time_br/_ 3 their promise of buses running every 20 minutes in the morning and every 30 minutes in the afternoon was not correct_br/_ 4 the supposed attractions that you buy were actually free_br/_ 5 commentary was non existent, staff were rude and could not care less._br/_ If i could get my money back i would, but I doubt that will happen. I have been in the hospitality industry for 35 years, and this was my worst tour experience ever._br/_ This has tarnished my view and my stay in Washington, so much so I doubt I will will trust Viatour again. Everyone we spoke to on the tour was of the same opinion

Accent of ticket sellers very hard to understand .. possibly Jamaican. Ticket I purchased for tour American history museum myths and misconceptions was not running that day for some reason and no options offered. Careful getting the three bus options as only some stops let you on the other circuit and you have to vomplete it in a certain time in order to get back. We wasted most of our ticket. The other bus company buses go both ways so probably a better option. No one to confirm things with or ask questions about tickets.

This was TERRIBLE!!! Not worth the money at all. The tour left very late, took twice as long as advertised, there was a ton of walking when it was supposed to be NOT hop on hop off, our tour guide mispronounced everything and was hard to understand. The driver didn't seem to know where he was going.

Buses did not run often enough and you had to wait a lot.

This particular hop on tour was not the best one for Washington D.C. They had very few buses running and we waited sometimes over an hour for another bus. A better bus would be Washington's Big Bus Tour. They had tons of buses and we would see 15 of them before we saw one of our buses. We gave up waiting at Arlington and used Uber. Also, we purchased the additional package for free entrance into 5 more attractions. We didn't even use them as everything we wanted to see were free of charge. It was a waste of our money for Madame Tussaud's or the Spy Museum.

We done the night tour which was good, our guides were great. The day tours were terrible. Couldn't find any bus stops. The yellow line only ran every 2 hours and when we waited the bus was late. There clearly isn't enough buses. Not enough guides for information. We couldn't find where to get the purple line so missed that. Poor value for money compared to the big bus with buses every 15-20 minutes. Very disappointed. Spend a lot time hanging about waiting on the buses

Very bad service. The bus wait at each destination wasy too long and staffs were very rude and unpolite. It's best to use bus tours like the big bus tour which has frequent services and know how to deal with their guests and customer.

Do not buy on Viator because the employees of the tour company are not familiar with it. I spent at least 30 minutes trying to find an employee that recognized my print out. Then, they reluctantly accepted it. Do not use Viator.

In all honesty I cannot recommend this tour. I have taken previous Hop On/Hop Off tours offered by Viator and was extremely pleased, but this tour fell well short of the mark. I purchased the 48 hour, and on the first day we did not have a live guide but had recorded audio. The recordings were way out of date, referring to events or structures that you could possibly experience on a future tour, as they would not be complete until 2015!!! Also the speaker clearly had never visited the DC area, as he kept referring to the Potomac River as the POT-toe-mac, when in really the pronunciation id pot-TOE-mic. In addition to that, the recordings did not sync with the physical location of the bus, often referring to sights that were no longer visible and in one case announcing that this was the stop for a given attraction, longer after we had passed the stop. The tour was also spoiled by the traffic experienced in DC. We spent more time stopped in traffic than we did moving. When the recording wasn't mentioning something that was not visible, we were treated to the most horrendous Progressive Jazz interlude imaginable. That may be some folks idea of music, but I think they are in the minority, and it certainly wasn't mine.

I was very disappointed with this hop on hop off pass. The buses were supposed to come every 20 minutes and we were lucky if it was every 45 min. We even had a driver shut the door in my husbands face and drive off. This was a complete waste of money. We purchased cards for the Boston and New York area and were very happy with them.

The Day Tour was very disappointing, there was no tour guide and the recorded commentary wasn't working either. The company were saved by the Night Tour, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and did her best to get us to as many places as possible.

We booked this tour and your company used City Sights DC. We had used Viator in NYC and this service was great so booked it when we were in DC, as well. It was chilly, not your fault of course, but when the bus finally got there, we had to sit upstairs in cold because the bus was filthy in the closed in downstairs and the windows were all grimy! Plus they had mechanical problems and had to pull over and wait for another bus to pick us up! It's condition was just as bad. We saw another Hop on and off bus service that looked so much more updated and new equipment called Big Bus. I suggest you change your Service Provider so that clients like me will book through your service. It was quite expensive for 3 of us at 229.47. We only used it that afternoon from 1:30-4pm as that is when they stop running. We then decided we would rather walk the rest of the time instead of getting back on the next day.

This trip was disappointing to say the least, the day tour had no guide and the commentary didn't work either. The saving grace for this company was the Night Tour, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and did her best to show us as much as she could. Without the night tour it would have been very poor value for money.

It was awful. when we got off to see the sites, our driver and personal told us that a bus would be coming again to pick us up. we waited over an hour and a half in the heat burning from the sun. We will never take this again. they do not inform passengers correctly and they are not very concerned about passengers.

Employees: Most were great, some were a bit questionable. Some talk way too fast!_br/_ Bus: Couldn't see a thing if one sat in the lower part of the bus. To see, one must sit on the top deck, which lends itself to freezing. Buses don't seem to run too close to a schedule. _br/_ If I were to spend money on a bus tour, to with Big Bus--they are very visible and a bigger company so they either have more buses, or run close to a schedule.

Our first stop was out to Arlington National Cemetary. We wasted 3 and a half hours on the bus trying to get out there. Terrible service, no help, extremely long waits. Worst use of our money, and we never got back on and had to pay to Uber our next day.

Hop off is great, hop ON is left to chance however. Multiple waits over 45 Minutes week of september 28, busses not stopping, in Arlington we had to take another company's bus, as we were left stranded for good. Night tour was completely overbooked, took ages to organize a second bus and only one supervisor present who was great but all on his own. Most of the time the German recording was not working at all.

The tour was great We were able to see and do the things we had on our bucket list. However, since our time in DC was when the Pope was in town did make the night tour more difficult. But over all I will use your company again when in a city that I am and need help.

Review by:   Latrice A,    September 2015 Review: 4 star rating: Recommended
The day tour could have been much better with a guide and knowing what we were looking at, since this was our first time in DC. On the upside, the night tour was awesome along with an awesome tour guide Tamara. She was very entertaining along with her vast knowledge of each place we passed and stopped at. I wont rate this company too low because I enjoyed my experience in NY through this company. However, citysights DC needs some work.

Our last day we sat un top a bus at the station for almost an hour in the hot 90 degree weather. NOT FUN!. Also just got my credit card bill and you charged me twice for this tour! I am disputing with the CC Company.

We had a very challenging and upsetting customer experience one afternoon. The brochure map indicated the correct place to get on the red line was in front of Madame Tussaud's museum in Washington DC. In front of the museum we asked the bus driver if the bus was a 'red line' bus and if there was enough room for 7 people 2 of which were my parents and my father doesn't walk well and needs a cane. He threw up his hands and put his head down on the driving wheel. He then looked at me and said he didn't mean to be a smarty pants. Then my mom showed him the map and was expressing frustration on the pick up point and he then got very agitated and told her Lady, you need to shut your mouth! I told him calmly we'd catch another bus and walked up the street a block and talked with the City Sights tour people and they tried to explain the incorrect map situation. The incorrect map clearly frustrates the drivers as well as the customers. After spending several hundred dollars on a tour that could have been a great experience, it was very upsetting being told to 'shut your mouth'.

The buses seemed to take a while to come to certain stops along the route. And where we had an amazing lady giving great information on one bus, other buses had guides that gave little to no information or it was only a brief audio bit you got to listen to. Will check out another company on my next visit.

The tour was good and entertaining. Unless you are familiar with the locations and know what you are supposed to visit, you may end visiting the same places multiple times.

DC City tours is a start up company with a lot of maturity to go. Although the people were friendly and tried to be accommodating, the schedules were never on time. We spent a LOT of time waiting for the buses. Then two would pull up at the same time. Would not use them again.

A good way to get around DC, although a few stops could be better signposted. Much congestion near the Lincoln Memorial. Perhaps a larger colour coding of the front of the buses might help.

Some of the tour guides were good but we had a few that were not very personable. We had to wait over an hour to be picked up at our hotel, and we had to call. They seemed very disorganized and did not follow the schedule they gave us. Their hop on hop off pick up spots were not marked so we had to guess where they were and sometimes run to the bus to get on. The buses did not come as often as indicated in the brochure. I would try another tour company next time. The night tour of the monuments was great.

A bit disappointing at first. The City Sights agent that we first encountered did not know how to process the vouchers. Her supervisor was worse and told us that we could not get the five attractions and suggested I call her office insisting I would get the same answer. I did. Pick Big Bus instead.

the tour was great. the only problems they didn't give us enough time to get off at stops. We missed the White house twice. The other problem I have hip problems and the driver wouldn't give me a hand to help me get off the bus, I had to step in the water once the next time I had to back off bus. A helping hand would have been nice or a bus that came down like public buses . The jazz on the tapes was great _br/_ thank you
