The buses in New York Grayline are not as good as the other company competitor_br/_ If you are stuck on the bottom of the bus they fill quickly you can't see very well because the windows are not clear but covered in some sort of material. I didn't like it all all. I would not choose Grayline again.

The web sites to show your voucher to any of the HOHO bus drivers to get on the bus, WRONG!! We walked to an area to get the bus to travel to battery park, we were told we had to get our voucher verified at one of the assigned locations. So off we go again to get verified and stood in line for 1/2 hour. There was only one person in the office. When it became our turn, I said to the girl it looks like your need help and also informed her that the site said we could show our voucher to any driver to get on. She said I don't know what your talking about. She proceeded getting our tickets and was showing an attitude. When she was finished she rudely handed me the tickets and said I'll let you go this time, but the next time I'll take you out side and WHOOP your ass. Well she won't be seeing me anytime soon, because I won't use the service again nor will I be going back to NYC. NYC has to be one of the dirtiest cities in the world. It did not look lake that when JuliannI was mayor. What an embarrassment to the US, especially when foreign guest come to see one of the most visited cities.

I was very very disappointed with my experience in booking this tour. When I purchased through Viator online, I was told that ALL I had to show to get on to the hop on bus tour was Either my printed voucher, or the app on my phone, and that I could board any bus along the route. I got all the way to New York and was at one of the stops waiting to see a bus to hop on and after about an hour waiting I called the phone number provided to me, and they told me I had to get to a location in downtown NY to exchange my voucher for tickets!!! I was sure they were mistaken and kept telling them that Viator had specifically told me all I needed was the printed voucher or my phone app!! After calling back and forth to Viator and this tour agency for about another hour of frustration. I was finally told that Viator was the one at fault for giving me that information. I was very inconvenienced and lost hours of my vacation time finally finding my way to the tour agency and having to exchange my voucher from Viator for tickets. I will NOT TRUST Viator in the future and will have to make sure they are giving me the correct information on how to get on tours.

We decided to try the Hop-On-Hop-Off tour because it offered my family of 4 the opportunity to see many of the sights of NYC that we wouldn't otherwise be able to see during our short visit. We have used Hop-On-Hop-Off tours in other cities worldwide and found them to be very professional and informative, and also provide us with an easy way to navigate unknown locales. Our 1st day in NYC, we took the bus north from Times Sq. up through Harlem and back to TS. The driver was great and negotiated the traffic like it was nothing and the bus stayed on track with the narration on the head-sets. Overall, day 1 was enjoyable. Day 2 we took the bus south from TS to the Battery park area. What can I say, our second day's experience nearly made me swear off ever using Hop-On-Hop-Off tours ever again. The way the driver handled the bus and his skill actually lack of skill was terrible. His use of both the gas pedal and brake pedal nearly made everyone in my group sick - lurching forward, slamming on the breaks, jerking, and swerving were never-ending. I understand NYC traffic is an issue and sometimes sudden breaking or acceleration can't be avoided, but on this bus, with this driver, it was constant and not caused by the crazy NYC traffic! And to add to the sickening ride, the narration was completely off so we had no idea what we were seeing, which was very frustrating. There wasn't a guide on the bus that we could see and with the ride being so jerky, we dared not go from the back of the top deck down to talk with the driver for fear of getting seriously jolted around. Needless to say, we got off when we realized this tour wasn't getting any better. We took the subway for the rest of the day. We chose not to do the night tour because we didn't want to possibly have another sickening bus ride and sour our whole experience and we ran out of time for the harbor cruise. I'm torn on this recommendation - first day was fine, but the second day was awful. Overall, Ill give it a 2-star rating, reluctantly.

Very easy to exchange tickets and found it a good way to get around town. The buses come very frequently. Particularly enjoyed the night tour and the Brooklyn tour. One small moan was a guide on one of the buses who we could not understand but we just switched to the pre recorded commentary, it did not spoil the tour. Would do again.

Great tour so you can see most of New York City and beyond some, make sure you have a good hat and gloves for excellent photos from upside deck in the cooler months. Most guides are very entertaining and clear enough to hear. Fantastic value for money, would need at least 2 day tour as it very hard to get everything tour in, in one day._br/_ Thank you.

This was a great option for anyone visiting NYC, but too much to do in one day. If there only one day, buy a smaller tour package from the actual company when you arrive in NYC. It's a 48 hour pass so if there for two days, it's worth it. Each line of the tour there were 4-5 lines takes 2-3 hours if you stay on to hear all the info. Pay VERY close attention to print voucher because we had lots of problems getting it printed when we arrived. Great way to see all of the city w/o the subway or walking everywhere. Would totally do this again when we visit NYC.

The first bus had no one speaking. The second bus had a guy who talked more about his personal experiences in a loud, grating voice. The cruise was a nightmare with what seemed like 3 times as many people as it was meant to carry - standing room only upstairs and downstairs!!!! Of course, the views where great!!!

tour wouldn't let me book and pay for my family without being the lead traveler. I'm local and had no interest to go. It prompted to continue to book and request name change through viator-Simple right? Never got a response. worse, the bus is open top so lots of fun in 25 degrees. Waste of 350 dollars.

Both were okay. The driver was very good and I enjoyed the cruise but on both the guide was only fair. They didn't seem to be very knowledgeable and were more interested in being entertaining. Next time I would probably wait and find a tour once I was there.

We took this tour in late October. It rained both days. We simply were to cold to take the boat tour. We are from California and it was in the mid 80's when we left. Except for the weather it was a nice time. The buses came pretty often. We found plenty of people at the stops to help us. We also got pretty lucky that all the buses we took were covered. The tour guides were all different but pretty knowledgeable. If you haven't visited New York you should know that you can't even see most of it in 2 days but this tour was a good way to at least lay eyes on the important parts. Even with this tour we walked and walked so expect to do some walking. Most of the bus stops are marked but some are not but the map was right. All in all I would book this tour again it was well done.

We did all routes available and in most it was very good, however the guides are very pushy about tips and how much they should get. We didn't like this. The guides were informative. Unfortunately the river cruise was not good. We only got half the cruise and ended up going around 3 loops looking at the same stuff before we could get off. This ended up making us late for our pre booked 911 museum tour so we lost our money. Was really disappointed and angry about missing the tour.

This bus and boat tour was a nice one but it started very bad.After waiting about 45 minutes we finally got on board.We waited another half an hour on board,in the hot sun without having any information from the agents.We were then informed that there was a problem with the bus and that we had to wait for the next one.Unfortunately the people who had waited for so long were not those who got on the next bus and had to wait again.We got no compensation for all these mishaps.

The Harbor Cruise was enjoyable. The guide was very upbeat and took a nice picture of us. We really enjoyed the guide on the Uptown Tour, unfortunately there were problems with the sound system on the Downtown Tour.

Took my two daughters for their 18th and 21st to New York. Have used hop on / hop off buses in Paris and find them excellent. It's a great informative, quick way of getting around and helps you cover so much more in a relaxing manner. Buses are so regular you never wait longer than 10 mins, sometimes two buses as once so space is never a problem. The addition of the river cruise was amazing value for money. Information Centre just round the corner from 1st bus stop so no traipsing around looking for it. Tour Guides were superb. Would and have recommended to family and friends. Made an amazing trip even more amazing!!!

I didn't like the fact that you advertised a double decker bus but I was only allied to sit out in the open and it was cool on the day I went. The bus reeked of urine on the top. Will never use this bus again.

Tour bus generally fine. One of the guides continually told us about his daughter, of whom he was obviously very proud, however, it was not what we were on the bus for. Another guide on the evening tour, which I recommend, was very informative. Generally feel worth the money. One negative I felt the stops need to be a bit more prominent, as they don't stand out in such a visually busy city. We tended to look out for the bus and try and stay ahead of it until it stopped. That's the advantage of the bus moving slow in New York traffic

Four of us took the trip. Great value for money but you do need to plan ahead to maximise the trips. The boat trip was awesome and the guide Debbie on the Uptown/Harlem tour was wonderful, so knowladgeable and careing. There is some duplication between Brooklyn and night tours but otherwise all great. Loved the fact that the tickets were not live until presented at office, as it was raining on our first day so we were able to defer our plans. Beware long queues at office so go early

The general knowledge of guides is good and the tours take you to most area's of interest. Couple of disappointing things. Brooklyn tour leaves from Stop 15 on downtown tour however no signage of were to join and direction from staff were "couple of sets of lights further down", and also no mention that you have to get on the bus to do it._br/_
Also disappointed with the downtown tour not dropping you back to your point of origin especially on the last run with no hope of a connection on any other tour.

I found this tour did not run to true Hop on Hop Off tours. We kept on having a forced change of buses in areas that we didn't know and didn't feel at ease with. There was no bus that followed a complete route without the forced change of bus.

Booked 48 hour tickets. Excellent value for money - and a good way to get an overview of the city. Day 1 we took a south city tour - fantastic guides - entertaing and very interesting. Day 2 not as good. We took a tour of upper east and west side on a newer bus. Commentary via headphones provided was spoiled by interference and finally it stopped working! Guide said that this was a regular occurence. If so, this really needs to be sorted out. Boat cruise was good although the tour guide liked the sound of his own voice a little too much - maybe we just didn't get his humour. On balance I would recommend this tour.

The tour was great value, thought you definitely have to print out the 3 pages of data and hand this over at Madame Truseaus this is where ticket office is we used the hop on hop off doing complete circuits to get our bearings then will know where to go when we return at the end of the month. But you don't have buy in advance they had the tickets at the same price on the day at the ticket office.

There were times when it was hard to get on the buses. It was particularly hard to get on the Brooklyn tour - took two days to manage it. Other than that like any hop on hop off it served its purpose and is reasonably priced.
